Description of Stream B
The Canadian government has introduced a special pathway for Hong Kong residents to obtain permanent residence. Under Stream B, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Passport: Hold a valid passport issued by: The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, or The United Kingdom to a British National (Overseas).
Work Experience: Have at least 12 months of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time) in Canada within the last three years.
Language Proficiency: Achieve at least CLB 5 in a recognized English or French language test (e.g., IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF).
Other Requirements: Be physically present in Canada at the time of application and when you get permanent residence. Have valid temporary resident status (or be eligible to restore it). Intend to live in a province other than Quebec.
Both Stream A and Stream B allow applicants to include their spouse or common-law partner and dependent children under 22 in the application.
